Why there is no form

A form needs somewhere to send its contents, which means a server. This site does not have one, and the whole point of it is that nothing about your files or your session leaves your device. Adding a form would mean adding the one piece of infrastructure the project exists to avoid.

Email reaches the same people and keeps your message under your own control. So: email.

To get a useful reply, please say what you were trying to do, which browser and version you used, and — if a file failed — what kind of file it was (format and approximate dimensions).Do not attach the image itself. It is not needed to diagnose a processing problem, and this project would rather not receive your files at all.

Bug reports

Things that are most useful to include:

• the page you were on, for example Image Compressor;
• the settings you used — format, quality, dimensions, watermark options;
• the exact error message shown on the queue item, if there was one;
• whether the same file worked in a different browser.

Feature requests

Ideas are welcome. The most likely ones to be built are those that fit the local-processing model — anything requiring an upload would be declined by design, not by lack of interest.

Before you write

A few common questions are already answered elsewhere:

• "Why did my PNG not get smaller?" — PNG is lossless, so quality settings do not apply. See theguides.
• "Why can't I add my GIF or TIFF file?" — those two formats are refused on purpose, with the reason shown on the file. HEIC works: use the HEIC to JPG page. See theguides for more.
• "Where did my files go?" — nowhere; they never left your device. The few batches the result page needs stay in your browser's local database and never touch the network. See theprivacy notice.
